The GSM-R mobile phone focX®2 is part of the new generation of our focX product range®. It is a GSM-R terminal device for professional mobile communication applications and is equipped with a radio module that ensures communication in the railway radio network. Interfaces for public networks (2G, 3G, 4G), WLAN and Bluetooth are available and can be used.

The focX®2 fulfils the requirements of the European EIRENE standards FRS 8.1 and SRS 16.1 and is the world's first available handheld radio with integrated filters to meet the requirements of TS 102-933, v2.1.1. Together with the transmission power of 2W in GSM-R mode and the intuitive user guidance, the device supports safe and smooth communication.

Based on many years of experience in the field of train radio, Funkwerk has developed a 5G-based cab radio. The compact next-generation cab radio is used in modern mobile radio and railway communication systems (4G/5G).

The device CRLT.50 is housed in a standard double DIN housing and offers telephony and data services. The software system is based on Android or optionally on Linux. The modern touch interface allows practically self-explanatory and ergonomic use. The product is designed for use on railway vehicles, among other things. The current version supports 3G, 4G and 5G mobile voice and data services, including the option for Mission-critical applications (MCX) was realised.

In addition to an integrated eSIM, it can be operated with a publicly available SIM card and is designed as an all-in-one unit for fixed installation on vehicles. In addition to the mobile communications interface for 3G/4G and 5G, other interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, WIFI, Bluetooth1 as well as a handset, a loudspeaker and a multi-purpose interface for inputs and outputs. The installation of third-party applications is possible and can be smoothly integrated into existing or new infrastructure systems if the applications are based on Android.

A Funkwerk MCX (mission critical) application is available. Customised applications or adaptations can also be provided by Funkwerk or third parties. The system is designed to support future 5G releases and will be customised for future services such as group communication. In addition, a range of accessories such as handsets and external antennas are available.

Colour touch display with anti-reflective protective glass

The MMIIB control unit of the MESA 26 train radio family is designed for menu-guided control of digital and analogue train radio. It fulfils the requirements for use on rail vehicles and is designed for console installation in the driver's cab. With the aid of an intercom system consisting of a handset and loudspeaker, the train driver is able to carry out a wide range of communication tasks.

Funkwerk control panels are developed in accordance with specifications and European standards and are characterised by their innovative and intuitive user guidance. Functions that can be carried out without orientation on the display can be executed using hardkeys. Functions that are carried out on the display can be controlled using softkeys. This makes operation easier for the user and also allows the flexibility to make functional changes without the need for hardware.

The MMIIB has a 10.1” colour touch display with anti-reflective protective glass and 2 buttons (hard keys) with a fixed function. The emergency call button is equipped with a gripping protection. The following functions are designed as hard keys:

All other operating functions are activated via softkeys. The functional assignment of the softkeys is shown in the immediately adjacent area of the display and depends on the radio system set and the current menu level.

Made in Germany and certified according to the latest standards, train radio communication has been breaking new ground thanks to our MESA®26 modular radio system. Two aspects in particular distinguish what makes the system stand out: the application of the radio module MT5E, its integrated filters which protect against interference from external networks, and its innovative software that distinguishes itself by splitting into operating modes – from multi-mode with GSM-R, to analogue and LTE. That is why the Funkwerk MESA®26 is in use in many European railway operations. Due to the modular structure of the MESA®26, upgrades for future requirements like FRMCS are of course possible, securing your investment.
